A BABE OF TWO, by Glenna Covino
Wyatt, Your Mom told me you are two.
So many things for you to do
Now and when you are three,
So many things for you to see.
Like fuzzy bunnies and baby chicks
And wonderful ice cream cones to lick.
You like to play out in the sun
The sprinkler on two dogs that run
Children grow up so very fast
Mom and Dad wish these fun times could last.
For now they see a baseball glove in your hand,
A handsome young man gazing out across the land.
They turn around, look across the stage,
A cap and gown, they are amazed.
Mom and Dad, Yes! You have won,
God has given you this beautiful son.
