A FEW RUBBER BANDS MORE, 5min., USA, Comedy/Western
Directed by Daniel Greenwald
Trouble ensues when these lonely travelers realize their unlikely connection in this quirky tale from the Wild West.
A Few Rubber Bands More is a lighthearted story inspired by the great westerns and was conceived while listening to the music of Ennio Morriconne. In making this film, I set out first and foremost to have fun with the project and hoped to capture an element of classic suspense set on the stage of the grand American West. On the day of shooting it was over 100 degrees Fahrenheit at our location where the actors and crew spent six hours in the sun. As the project wrapped at sunset we all went home excited and proud of the effort we had put in together. This film represents many firsts for me as a director and editor and I hope that others enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.
I filmed on my Canon T5i using a simple homemade glidecam for some stabilization. A few shots were also taken using a Phantom 2 vision plus drone. I spent a total of about $250 on costume materials and food for the cast and crew. Most materials and equipment were items that the cast, crew, or myself had at home and everyone who helped volunteered their time.
