CRIES OF SHIPS, by Toyin S. Ajimati.

I was a ship,
That carried a whole continent out to sea,
To places where they did not want to be,

I was a ship,
That was painted with death, feces and urine,
Forever staining the cerebral of humans with some much despair.

I was a ship,
Which cradled countless offenses towards human dignity,
From babies to the beautiful queens,

I was a ship,
Whose main purpose was to bring back souls to be sold,
As if they were diamonds, minerals or gold.

I was a ship,
That carried scattered families trees, history as well as mysteries of all humanity,
That today is still unrecognized, unappreciated, and distorted from United States, Europe, to the West Indies.
