DAVID A. BOSSERT is an artist, filmmaker and author. He received a B.F.A. in Animation from the CalArts School of Film/Video. He currently serves as the Producer, Creative Director & Head of Special Projects at Walt Disney Animation Studios and is currently overseeing numerous projects for various divisions across The Walt Disney Company globally.
Dave has contributed his talents to such films as The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Lion King, Pocahontas, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas, Hercules, Fantasia 2000 and the Academy Award-nominated Disney/Dali short film Destino. Dave is an award-winning Producer and Director. He co-directed the short film One by One and has also directed numerous other projects including the multiple award winning Pumbaa & Timon Safety Smart DVD series for Disney Educational Programs and the Underwriters Laboratories.
Dave works in a variety of animation techniques including 2D, CG, & Live Action combinations; 3D & specialty projection formats. He was creative director & producer of the Disney animation Media used in the World of Color and was recently creative director & producer of the animation media for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Coaster Attraction. Dave is currently working on several projects that combine animation & new technologies to create unique guest experiences.
Dave also serves as the Artistic Supervisor for the Disney Restoration Team and has overseen restoration on the latest restored features Bambi, Cinderella, Lady and the Tramp, The Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, Fantasia, Snow White, Pinocchio, Jungle Book & many others.
Dave co-authored the "Disney Animated" iPad App which was recently named iPad App of 2013 by Apple. His first book, "Remembering Roy E. Disney; Memories and Photos of a Storied Life", was published by Disney Press on September 17, 2013 and is available now at bookstores and on Amazon.com. Dave also directed, produced and co-wrote the documentary short "The Tunes Behind The Toons" which has won both the Gold World Medal for Documentaries and is a Finalist for Short Films at the 2014 New York Festivals.
