10 Questions with the Writer

1. Why should your script be made into a film?

"Hate Quilt" could be a festival contender. It would showcase all filmmakers' talents: writing, directing, acting, set design... the whole shebang, all within one location. Its a quirky and witty narrative with a good heart, visually appealing and character-savvy. I think people will like it.

2. How long have you been writing screenplays?

I've been writing screenplays for ten years.

3. What film have you seen the most in your life?

The film I've seen more often is either "Mindwalk" or "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"... maybe Breakfast Club. Its a close race.

4. What artists in the film industry would you love to work with?

I would love to work with Michel Gondry, for starters.

5. How many screenplays have you written?

I've written one feature screenplay, four shorts, and have several other stories in-development.

6. Ideally, where would you like to be in 5 years?

In five years, I will be at Universal Studios directing Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" for theatrical release as the best adapted feature of its kind.

7. Describe your process; do you have a set routine, method for writing?

My writing "method" is preferably to develop concepts and ideas in dedicated notebooks, then hammer-out the story on a typewriter, and finally compose and edit on computer. Sometimes I just throw-down directly on computer. It usually depends on the muse and/or current circumstances.

8. Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?

I am passionate about music, cooking, all forms of creative expression, and hiking cities and parks.

9. What influenced you to enter the WILDsound Script Contest?

The WILDsound Script Contest offers great feedback notes, encouragement, and the opportunity for a professional table read before a live audience, and perhaps may open some doors to professional connections.

10. Any advice or tips you'd like to pass on to other writers?

My advice to other writers: know your story (especially before scripting), seek "professional" feedback and remain open-minded to it, and always remember that its YOUR muse at work. Just keep at it and try to have some fun.
