I danced with the Devil and his middle name is James by R.R. Wyatt

I danced with the Devil and his middle name is James.
He told me, "Come on down from there and enjoy the view from here."
He said, " It ain't really like what they say. It's nice and warm and I'll show you the way."
I thought to turn, I thought to run, instead I walked closer, closer to the edge. It was the other side, I just wanted a quick glance.
Before I knew it, I was in a trance.
I'd said yes to a question he didn't ask.
That Devil's tricky, oh yes indeed! He says he's really not a liar, he just gives people what they want...as I stepped closer. I felt the heat rising up from beneath. Black smoke appearing from the earth.
Tickling my feet, sliding up my calves,
wrapping around my thighs underneath
my dress. I start to sweat and my chest a heavy rise and fall.
Completely consumed by this
dark matter,
I closed my eyes and heard the call.
A loud drumming sound playing
in my ears.
My body starts to pulse to the beat.
Faster and faster I couldn't stop.
I tried to gain control but it was no use.
The smoke began to thicken and swirl in front of me.
I knew what was coming and what was coming was he.
I tried taking a step back but instead I took two steps forward. Because deep down, I wanted it.
But of course he already knew that.
Just a taste, a simple touch or two was all I desired.
Well that Devil's tricky, oh yes indeed!
He gave me a taste or two, three, four
and even more.
And there in front of me when the smoke cleared, there he stood, staring at me,
with fire blue eyes.
His arms wrapped around me where the
smoke had been.
One hand on the back of my neck, the other still underneath my dress. My heart was pounding
and I was scared out of my mind.
Half of me knew that this was wrong, because I would never have him.
While the other half wanted more and that's what he gave me.
I was already in his grasp, so there was
no going back.
So I let it happen.
His body felt a 180 degrees and he had lips like fire.
Those cold blue eyes, searching for cracks in my already weakened armor. He was taking everything from me, but also giving me a new. My body, my thoughts, my heart all his.
When he achieved his goal and my body stopped quivering,
he turned me loose and I fell to the ground. After a quiet laugh he stared at me with complexity.
Then he spoke,
"See, it's not so bad your first time.
You start to like it after awhile"
He stretched his back and
sniffed the air.
Then returned to gaze at me with a cold stare. I didn't know what to say, I didn't know what to do.
I tried to stand but my legs
wouldn't move.
Was this it? Is this all there would be? Was he finished with me?
I didn't know what to do next.
So I asked a simple question.
"Will I see you tomorrow or
the day after?"
His reply was as cold as his stare,
"I dunno." He laid those fire blue eyes on me one last time, and just like he came, so he went.
So I danced with the Devil and his middle name is James. He took a part of me, and in return, a part of him slip into me.
