MISFIT MANIFESTO by Anne Korhonen
Need no other school
than life
Streets taught me out of a fool
In the dark room ganjah's my wife
Hours of mind blowing pleasure
Empty satisfaction I treasure
Pain vanishes in my holy smoke
last year mum died of stroke
If anybody's askin' I'm alright
Rockin' clubs through the night
Alone I'm good, don't wanna fight
but if ya complain talk to ma knife
Misfortune turned me into a misfit
I ain't backing down, got grit
I'm strong on my own
Living on welfare and loan
Room has no central heating
I caught my baby cheating
but ganjah keeps me warm
in trance away from harm
I know no tomorrow
Got no reason for sorrow
I'm a free man, goddamn
Happy the way I am
I stole from a store
employers show me the door
they see me as a coloured junk
by days I stay in my bunk
by nights I go n' get drunk
They say I'mma die young
I say they don't know a dung
Dirty clothes, dishes, sheets
Broke rubbish food I eat
Can't pay the bills
but ganjah makes me chill
I know that I'm ill
School dropped me out
they don't know what I'm about
Dyslexia ain't stopping me
I'mma rhyme myself free
Life's like throwing a dice
Been in jail once or twice
Goverment promises too much
Our lives they can't touch
Hypocrisy of social and nurse
makes me wanna curse
Can't trust official authorities
standing by majorities
Society stamped me isolated
To HIV I'm medicated
To invisibility I'm suffocated
My situation's constantly debated
From weed they want me alienated
but they don't know I'm healing
nothing wins this feeling
Flying high over the ceiling
Disoriented I'm reeling
To Jah in awe I'm kneeling
Music I live and breathe
song of survival in this beat
