Andrew Ruiz- See director BIO
Andrew Ruiz is a writer, educator, and filmmaker living in New York City. Andrew earned his MFA from Columbia University in May 2015. He received an undergraduate degree from Montclair State University, where he made several short experiential films that have been mercifully lost.
Andrew's latest short film, Fish, tells the story of a young child trying to smuggle his pet fish past the TSA. The Fish team was honored to receive the 2014 Katharina Otto-Bernstein Production Grant as well as the Caucus Foundation Grant. Andrew's previous short, Limit, premiered at the Williamstown Film Festival in 2013.
His current projects are largely educational, teaching screenwriting at Columbia and at the Cinema School, the country's first magnet school for filmmaking, located in The Bronx, NYC.
